AllianceBury St Edmunds-based insurance and risk-management company Alliance has appointed risk services manager Andrew Richardson to spearhead a new health and safety campaign. Richardson has 15 years' experience of managing health and safety.

Lucas Fettes & PartnersLucas Fettes & Partners has opened a new office in Bristol. The branch will be managed by Venita Vicary, who has been appointed managing director of Lucas Fettes (South West). Lucas Fettes has also appointed two directors and one associate director. Sean Trent is based in London and specialises in professional indemnity insurance. Phil Worthington, based in Manchester, takes responsibility for national sales and marketing. James Connor, based in London, has been appointed associate director of Lucas Fettes (Financial Services).

XbridgeXbridge has appointed Alastair Douglas as its insurance analyst. Douglas joins Xbridge from MAP, a syndicate of Lloyd's.

Cooper GayThe Cooper Gay Group has appointed Niccolo' Benvenuti as a superyacht broker within its marine division. Benvenuti has 15 years' insurance experience. Before joining Cooper Gay, he worked for Willis as a retail and placement broker specialising in yachts.

HSBC Insurance Brokers HSBC Insurance Brokers has appointed Tim Kemp as deputy chief executive.Kemp was previously managing director of the general corporate and commercial risks division (GCCR). He will also assume the role of chairman, GCCR.Kemp will be succeeded as managing director, GCCR, by David Boosey. Also, Steve Emmerson has been appointed with responsibility for national operations, and David Carlile has been appointed with responsibility for branch operations.Alan Waters, currently broking director, GCCR, is appointed broking director, world-wide retail.

Commercial Vehicle DirectCommercial Vehicle Direct Insurance Services (CVD) has appointed Andrew Mason as contact centre manager, based at its head office in Bristol.Mason joined CVD from Hill House Hammond.

Insurers

Shield DirectSpecialist niche insurer Shield Direct Insurance Services has appointed Iain MacDonald as operations director. MacDonald has 20 years' general insurance experience. He has previously worked in various roles for Prudential, Churchill and RBS Insurance.

Allianz CornhillAllianz Cornhill Commercial has appointed Kevin Coaker as development manager at its Chelmsford branch.Coaker joined Allianz Cornhill in 2000 as a business developer. In his new role he will manage business developers and the new business team.

AceAce European Group has appointed Alan Sumner as business development manager for the property and casualty division in Manchester. He joines from Zurich Commercial.

Glacier ReReinsurance start-up Glacier Re has appointed Robbie Klaus as chief executive and chief underwriting officer. Klaus has 18 years' underwriting experience. He was previously head of GE Frankona Re's global specialty division. Glenn Campbell is appointed chief financial officer of Glacier Re. He was previously chief financial officer of Catlin (Bermuda) and GE Frankona Re (UK). Richard Etridge has joined Glacier Re as a senior underwriter for the aerospace and war and terrorism portfolio. Jeremy Bloxham has joined as a senior underwriter. Adrian McGarva, formerly a member of Benfield Group's actuarial team in London, has joined as chief actuary.

GE Insurance SolutionsGE Insurance Solutions has appointed Tom Brand as cargo underwriter on its London-based marine team.Brand has 17 years' experience in the London market. Before joining GE Insurance Solutions in September, he was a cargo underwriter for Berkshire Hathaway's business at Lloyd's, known as Marlborough Syndicate 1861.

Amhanta SolutionsAmhanta Solutions, a Dublin-based provider of reinsurance solutions, has appointed John Finan as chairman. Finan was formerly Winterthur Life UK chairman and chief executive.

InsurE-comInsurE-com has appointed Paul Nevelös as director of customer services. Nevelös joins the board of management. His responsibilities include training, consultancy and customer support. He was previously director of client services at Newmarket International.

GAB RobinsGAB Robins UK has appointed Lynn Cufley as head of communications. Cufley has been with the company for 17 years.

QuestgatesQuestGates aims to expand its professional indemnity (PI) capability following the recruitment of Brian Cosgrave. Cosgrave was a founding director of specialist PI adjuster, Adjustability. He has more than 20 years' PI and general liability claims experience.

Ernst & YoungMichael Tripp has joined Ernst & Young as a partner in the property and casualty actuarial team. Tripp joins from Watson Wyatt, where he was head of the global non-life team. He has 25 years' insurance experience.

MedisureMedisure has appointed John Picken as chief executive. Picken has 15 years' experience developing risk solutions across a range of industry sectors. Medisure is the healthcare programme management arm of Marsh.

Corporate Risk SystemsAndrew Arkinstall has joined Corporate Risk Systems as a senior consultant and trainer. Arkinstall has nine years' training experience.

Joanne Halladay Ecclesiastical has appointed Joanne Halladay to the new post of head of brand communications. Halladay has an MA in marketing, and is a Chartered Marketer. She has 10 years' marketing experience. She has been at Ecclesiastical for three years. Prior to joining the insurer she was a marketing communications manager for Nortel Networks. Halladay said: "Ecclesiastical has very strong brand values, built on heritage and integrity. We will be taking them into new markets where they can make a real difference." In her spare time, Halladay enjoys traveling, and going to the cinema and gym.
