Commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global has formally created a branch office in Stockholm, Sweden.

FM Global said Tomas Fehrling, its general manager for the Nordic region, will be the company's legal representative.

FM Global said the move followed increasing demand from clients and brokers for the company to develop its locally-based capabilities

FM Global has operated in Sweden for more than ten years and has experienced considerable growth in business from companies headquartered in the region, it said.

“We are proud to be able to establish a formal branch office in Sweden so clients can receive an even more localised service,” said Stefano Tranquillo, vice-president operations manager, UK, Italy and the Nordic region.

“The response from local companies to FM Global's products and services has been extremely encouraging.”
