In Istanbul…

As a keen follower of Liverpool Football Club, I have been very lucky to see some great games over the years, Newcastle, Roma, Olympiakos, Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and a magic night in Istanbul in 2005. With Liverpool three goals down to AC Milan at half-time it looked like a long second half and even longer journey home. Sensationally Liverpool came back to win on penalties.

Down beat…

Some might view my musical tastes as veering towards the depressing, with the likes of Nick Drake, Miles Davis, David Sylvian and the godfather of gloom himself - Leonhard Cohen being key parts of my collection. My kids were early adopters of iPods.

Euro star…

Having stated the above, I do enjoy hosting a Eurovision party every May. Some of the best and worst food from across Europe, lots of unbelievably weird and wonderful drink, plus fancy dress. I guess it appeals to the comedy part of the brain rather than the musical….

Trekking for charity…

As part of SSP’s support for the Prince’s Trust Insurance Leadership Group, I have thrown myself at a few mad challenges, running through the desert of Namibia and traversing the countryside of Costa Rica with some of the nicest (and maddest) people in the industry.

On stage, but not screen…

I have been known to appear on stage in the village’s amateur dramatic productions, including a few pantomimes and the occasional play.
