Former D.A. Constable Syndicate MD and divisional director of QBE Stephen Fitzgerald appointed non-executive chairman
Stephen Fitzgerald has joined Delta Claims Services as non-executive chairman.
Fitzgerald, previously managing director of D.A. Constable Syndicate (386 at Lloyd's) and divisional director of QBE, is the second senior person to join the company since it was created in November 2008. Owen Gorman was the first to join the company last week as a director.
Fitzgerald will work with Simon Burley and Owen Gorman to deliver key business objectives and drive the organisation in 2009.
Simon Burley, director of Delta Claims Services, said: "I am delighted that Stephen has decided to join us. Owen and I have worked with Stephen for many years when he managed D.A. Constable and we have always admired his business acumen, honesty and great insight.
"He has over 40 years experience in the insurance industry and is well respected. We set our sights high in seeking an individual of this calibre and we look forward to obtaining his advice and support as Non-Executive Chairman.
"When looking for a Non-Executive Chairman, we wanted someone who would test and stretch us beyond the boundaries of the accepted norms.
"We are thrilled that Stephen has accepted such a position."
Fitzgerald added: "I was attracted to Delta Claims Services because of Simon and Owen's reputation for innovation and service and their unique operational business model.
"Both Simon and Owen are respected liability adjusters, fine leaders as well as sound business men. I admired how they ran Sigma Claims Solutions and I have no doubt that Delta Claims Services will be even better."
