Fitch Ratings has affirmed the BBB+ insurer financial strength rating for Sterling Insurance Company and Sterling Life. The rating has a stable outlook.
Both companies are underwriting members of UK-based Sterling Insurance Group, with insurance broking conducted through Sterling Hamilton Wright.
Fitch said the ratings were supported by the improved performance of both insurance companies during 2003.
It said it considered the levels of capitalisation maintained by the companies to be consistent with their ratings levels.
