The new head of Credit Suisse's insurance arm Winterthur has revealed his plans for the loss-making company.
Newly appointed Leonhard Fischer told Reuters at the Credit Suisse results conference that he had not been hired to sell the loss-making unit, but to return it to profitability.
"I have clearly not been given the task of selling Winterthur, but to lead it back to profitability," Fischer said, speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of the Credit Suisse results news conference.
Fischer was named chief executive of Winterthur in a surprise management revamp on Thursday.
