Daniel Bunyan, group head of marketing at Policy Expert, explains why his firm should win the Insurer Innovation of the Year category, sponsored by Carpe Data, at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards
Explain briefly about your entry in the Insurer Innovation of the Year category.
As a customer-centric business, resolving customer pain points through innovation has always been our focus.
This year, we’ve been able to implement a host of new innovations - this includes the launch of our bronze home product that has supported customers at risk of being priced out of the market.
We have also launched our self-service claims portal, making it easier for policyholders to claim if the worst happens. And finally, we’ve introduced Insurance Quote Intelligence, a transformational artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning initiative.
What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?
Our unique structure, which integrates all parts of the insurance vertical – from pricing through to claims management – really sets us apart.
It allows us to be nimble and introduce innovation much faster than other insurers.
We’ve also been able to introduce these innovations while maintaining our ratings for customer satisfaction, which have remained consistently high.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
This would be a fantastic award for us to win. We pride ourselves on using technology and innovation to benefit our policyholders, so this award would really be proof of that.
