Euclidian Underwriting and JLT Leisure, working with marine specialist Float Tech limited, have devised a way of raising holiday caravan homes out of harms way during a flood.
Flooding in the UK has resulted in massive losses for insurance companies over the last few years, with the leisure industry suffering heavy losses on holiday caravan parks that have become frequent victims of the river flood.
The "Floodsaver" device sits unobtrusively beneath the holiday caravan home, but once it comes into contact with water it is capable of being raised 3m by the use of the cantilever arms which are set into the concrete base preventing it from floating away.
Floodsaver is likely to cost up to £3,500 per caravan, potentially saving a £35,000 caravan holiday home from being destroyed by flooding.
