2022 winners

In the Insurance Times 2022 Etrading survey, 850 brokers took part. The following insurers performed strongly amongst brokers.

Insurer Extranets


Aviva Fast-Trade

Aviva Fast Trade has been given a five-star rating for the fourth consecutive year that Insurance Times has implemented a star system, ranking first among 13 insurer extranets looked at. Year-on-year, Aviva Fast Trade’s overall score fell slightly, to 4.22 from 4.31.


Zurich Online

Zurich Online has achieved an overall five-star rating for the first time. Since its transition from ZTrade to Zurich Online, brokers have seen year-on-year improvements to the platform, which was given a poor one-star rating in 2019. Brokers have seen improvements each year, leading to Zurich Online achieving three stars in 2020 and four stars in 2021.


QBE FastFlow

Brokers have given QBE FastFlow an overall four-star rating for the third year in a row and it has moved up the rankings to third place, from fifth in 2021. Year-on-year improvements over the last three years have led to QBE FastFlow improving its score in each survey.

Insurer via Software Houses


Aviva

Aviva has for the first time been given an overall five-star rating for eTrading via a software house platform, after being awarded four stars for the past three years. It reflects Aviva’s progress in improving the eTrading experience for brokers trading via a software house.


Zurich

Brokers gave Zurich via software house systems an overall five-star rating, improving on its four-star rating for the past two years. In 2021, Zurich achieved five stars in the service factor ‘quality and number of questions asked’ while being awarded four stars for the remaining four service factors. Zurich gained a star in four out of five service factors, but lost a star for ‘quality and number of questions asked’.


NIG

Brokers trading with NIG via a software house platform gave the insurer an overall four-star rating for a second consecutive year, but the insurer’s overall score declined. NIG was given four stars this year in all five service areas, with its highest score for ‘usability and trading ease’ and its lowest score for ‘quality of support’.
