Equity Insurance Group has acquired the general book of Somerset broker, Yeo Brokers.
The undisclosed value deal swells the group's UK branch network to nearly 70 and continues the company's expansion strategy.
Established in Yeovil for more than 40 years, Yeo was owned and managed by Mike Waterman. He and six further employees will continue to trade from the town centre office to further grow business in the region.
Mark Woods, Equity branch network operations director said: "Yeo fits the group's regional acquisition criteria. It's a well-established high street-based broking business in a geographical area earmarked for further development opportunities."
