Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings has formed a new commercial insurance and reinsurance arm.
The launch of Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited (EWIL) was boosted by an A- (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best, and FSA authorisation.
EWIL plans to specialise initially in UK commercial property risks predominantly and international treaty business.
In the near future, EWIL revealed it is looking to expand into other commerial and reinsurance lines.
Chief executive officer Mark Boucher said: "Now that we've received our FSA approval, we look forward to getting down to business immediately for the upcoming renewal period.
"We believe we've established a very solid foundation that will help Endurance Specialty Holdings expand into the European and global marketplace."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
