Endsleigh Insurance has launched a new insurance for cats and dogs.
The company says that other animals often require specialist treatment which leads to costly claims, so it has restricted the policy to cats and dogs to keep the overall price of premiums low.
Coverage includes vet bills, death from illness, theft of a pet, cost of advertising and reward if a pet is lost, and board costs if an owner is hospitalised.
The two-tiered insurance offers a choice of standard or gold cover.
