Disaster Restoration Limited (DRL) is launching a franchise operation in April.
The move is designed to increase DRL's presence throughout the UK. It will also bring the company into compliance with government legislation regulating the use of contractors.
Under previous arrangements, people working under the DRL banner were granted a license once they had fulfilled the DRL training. From now on, people will be able to essentially own their own business by operating a franchise.
Existing license holders will transfer to franchisee status.
DRL managing director Brian Armstrong said: "We see this as an exciting and most positive move for our business. DRL's network has often been mistaken for a franchise operation from day one, and that is about to become a reality.
"A major differentiating factor in our operation is our commitment to training from the outset and we will ensure that first class, quality fire and flood restoration solutions continue to be delivered to the domestic marketplace only by qualified individuals."
This summer, DRL will celebrate working with UK insurers in fire and flood restoration for ten years.
