New team of claims handlers join business
Deacon, a specialist in insurance for blocks of flats, has given its claims department a complete overhaul.
It said the move is part of its on-going strategy to increase focus on service delivery and efficiency.
Under the guidance of claims manager, Matt Wyatt, the in-house claims department has implemented a major recruitment drive, recently taking on a team of new handlers to consolidate the existing wealth of experience.
Combined with the introduction of new operational and administrative initiatives, Deacon said the claims team is able to ensure that post is dealt with quickly and efficiently within three working days, and that new claims are responded to within just one working day or less.
Matt Wyatt said: “We are constantly striving to maintain and improve upon the excellent reputation that Deacon has earned over the past 20 years that it has been operating in the insurance sector. As a result, we carry out regular quality audits, customer satisfaction surveys and intensive training courses for our staff, in a continuous bid to maintain our client base and keep ahead of our competitors.”
Deacon, which was established in 1989 and is part of the Property & Commercial Division of Barbon Insurance Group, has binding authority agreements with several major insurers enabling it to provide cover for a broad range of risks.
It is aiming to increase those delegated authority agreements with insurers and to reduce the amount of times a claim is touched, thereby speeding up the process between opening and settling claims.
The Property & Commercial Division of Barbon Insurance Group comprises four strategic business units located in Bournemouth, Croydon, Bordon and Chelmsford.
