Fifty staff to start programme before government regulation
Cunningham Lindsey is investing £50,000 in an advanced training programme for its fraud investigations team.
Around 50 staff at the loss adjustor will complete the 30-month programme to obtain an advanced professional certificate in investigative practice (APCIP).
The regulation of private investigators will begin next year. Licences will be granted by the Security Industry Authority, part of the Home Office, to investigators with a government-recognised qualification who have confirmed their identity and undergone a criminality check.
Cunningham Lindsey said the APCIP is likely to exceed the standard required by regulation.
Cunningham Lindsey head of fraud Christian Aplin said: “Evidencing the competency of your staff is an increasing requirement, particularly within this sector of our industry. We’re making a significant investment into the learning and development of our people, which will drive higher standards within the insurance industry and within our business.”
New recruits will also have to complete the course, and the company will expect all sub-contracted investigation agents to be similarly qualified.
