Lloyds broker acquires 100% of the Toronto and Montreal based Canadian MGA
Cooper Gay has acquired the remaining shares in leading Toronto and Montreal based Canadian Managing General Agent (MGA), Creechurch International Underwriters from the managing shareholders.
The deal remains in line with its group strategy of 100% ownership in its global operations.
Anne Coppens, who joined the company in 2000, will assume the president’s role with immediate effect.
Michael McLachlan, who was President at Creechurch since inception, has resigned to pursue other interests.
Toby Esser, Cooper Gay’s group chief executive, said: “During the past 10 years, both Michael and Anne have been instrumental in building this business into one of the leading MGAs in their chosen sectors in Canada.
"Mike has been a great asset to the company and everyone at Cooper Gay wishes him well for the future. I am also confident that under Anne’s stewardship, Creechurch will continue to grow and strengthen its leadership position in the market.”
