Debra Williams departs after four years.
Debra Williams, managing director of aggregator Confused.com, is expected to join Highway Insurance Group in October following a period of gardening leave.
Last week it was announced she was moving to Highway, where she will oversee the strategic direction and growth of the insurer’s internet distribution. She will report directly to Andrew Gibson, chief executive of Highway Insurance Group.
Williams spent four years at Confused, where she helped develop the company from a small team of 20 people to a staff of more than 90. Last year, the company posted profits of £32m.
She said: “Highway has the potential to grow significantly over the next few years. To think that I will be so heavily involved in shaping a company, and influencing its future success is an exciting prospect.”
Gibson added: “Debra’s wealth of knowledge and experience, both when it comes to the insurance industry and online propositions, is second to none. Needless to say she will be an invaluable addition to the Highway senior team.”
