Underwriter to develop Lloyd’s insurer’s treaty reinsurance practice
Lloyd’s insurer Chaucer has appointed Paul Blight as treaty practice head at Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
Blight joined Chaucer in 2008 as international casualty treaty underwriter to build the company’s casualty treaty reinsurance capability outside the US.
Chaucer created a new treaty practice in November 2012.
The practice combines 10 specialist teams of international and US treaty underwriters.
Blight has been a key player in its successful development.
Chaucer Syndicate 1084 active underwriter John Fowle said: “Paul has led the practice’s formation and development with enormous energy and aptitude, and by taking on this leadership role permanently, I know he will continue to drive the practice forward.”
Blight said: “We have a great team of international and US treaty underwriters at Chaucer for major classes of business. I look forward to continuing to work with them to create a market-leading treaty underwriting practice at Lloyd’s.”
