Catlin's combined operating ratio improved to 81.8% for the first half of 2004, compared to 87.8% for same period last year.

The insurer, which floated on the stock exchange in April, said gross premiums written rose to $935.3m compared to $747m for the first half of 2003.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
