RK Shipman offers new household policy which offsets carbon omissions
Householders who buy a new home insurance policy through RK Shipman, can have their personal carbon emission output offset by the Exeter based broker.
HomECOver is a new policy underwritten by several leading insurers and is the first in the UK which will offset up to 100% of the carbon emitted by the average UK household, which equates to around six tonnes per annum.
Green policies have previously been associated with motor and travel insurance but HomECOver is thought to be the first household insurance to market with carbon trading as the core of its appeal to homeowners.
