Insurer to become principal sponsor of England Cricket from 2010
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that Brit Insurance is to become the principal team sponsor of England Cricket in a partnership that will start in January 2010 and last for an initial four year period.
As part of this agreement the Brit Insurance logo will feature on all playing and training apparel worn by the England Men’s and Women’s Cricket Teams as well as the England Lions and England Disability Teams.
Brit Insurance will also receive a comprehensive range of sponsorship assets that includes advertising in grounds (perimeter / tri-visions / big screen / programme ads), team image rights and access to members of England Cricket Teams for commercial and marketing usage.
Dane Douetil, chief executive of Brit Insurance said:“We are delighted to become the principal sponsor of the England team – it is a logical next step in our brand development strategy. Brit Insurance is already a well known name in cricket, those who follow the sport will already know us and will have seen our commitment to the game over the past six years."
David Collier, ECB chief executive, added: “We are delighted to welcome Brit Insurance as the new principal sponsor of the England Cricket Teams. With an established brand and excellent reputation within the sport we are looking forward to working closely with them over the coming four years. I would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Vodafone who for the past 12 years has been a fantastic supporter of cricket in this country.”
