Acquisition of Chartwell consolidates broker's leading position in Manchester market
Bridge Insurance Brokers has acquired fellow North-West independent broker, Chartwell.
In a statement Bridge said key personnel from Chartwell’s Warrington offices are to be integrated into its offices in central Manchester.
The news follows comments by director Gavin Ruben in November that Bridge would be concentrating on being in key people to supports it organic growth plans.
The company described the acquisition of Chartwell as a "significant development for both Companies," which would "support its organic growth plans for 2008."
Bridge Director Peter Warburton said: "We are delighted with Chartwell and look forward to welcoming their people to our office in Manchester".
Bridge is one one of the leading brokers in the North-West, controlling over £35m in gross written premiums. Bridge is focused on corporate clients. Its specialties include risk management, environmental, credit and property insurance, and due diligence.
In October, it became the UK representative for international broker network, Brokers Link.
It has over 80 staff.
