Broking group Bluefin has hired Tim Philip as interim chief financial officer, replacing current finance chief Robert Organ.

Organ has accepted the role of finance director at parent firm AXA’s UK commercial lines and personal lines intermediary division, which is run by Amanda Blanc.

Philip joins Bluefin from rival broking group Towergate, where he led the finance division from its initial launch in 2002.

While at Towergate Philip worked on 200 acquisitions as well as multiple financing transactions, ranging up to £1bn.

Before this, Tim worked at brokers Heath Lambert and Benfield Group, and accounting firm PwC.

Bluefin chief executive Stuart Reid (pictured) said: “Tim has a wealth of knowledge and experience of this sector, which makes him ideally suited to work with us and means he can hit the ground running.”
