Commercial and personal Broker is Bluefin’s fourth acquisition of 2014
Bluefin has bought Scottish commercial and personal lines broker Regional Insurance Group (RIG).
This is the AXA-owned broking group’s fourth acquisition of 2014.
RIG is a regional broker with offices in Glasgow, Ayr, Forfar, Stirling and Falkirk and 42 staff.
RIG trades under three trading names: OKD Insurance Brokers Limited, Ferguson Oliver Insurance and RGC Insurance Services.
The branches will become part of Bluefin’s Commercial Division and will rebrand to Bluefin over the coming months.
RIG managing director Greig Reid said: “Bluefin has a great reputation, is a well established national broker and their backing will enable us to bring a fresh approach to the Scottish market.
“It is an exciting partnership for us and our clients and I look forward to working with the Bluefin team.”
Bluefin chief executive Mike Bruce said: “It’s great to be announcing another successful acquisition. Regional Insurance Group is an exceptional broker and its footprint across Scotland will enable us to expand our offering and develop a market leading presence across the region.
Bruce added that Bluefin had acquired around £25m of gross written premium in 2014 so far and is at “varying levels of discussions” with other brokers about acquisitions.
