Insurance Times rounds up the biggest stories from day one of Biba’s conference
Starting of the first day of the Biba Conference on 15 May 2024, deputy editor Yiannis Kotoulas reported on the heightened police presence around the conference’s venues entrance as delegates arrived.
Then, as the event swung into life, news editor James Cowen spoke to Alan Houston, strategic sales and accounts director at RSA, about the broker response to the insurer’s integration of NIG.
Junior reporter Chantal Kapani also attended the event’s opening address – the first to be given by Biba chief executive Graeme Trudgill.
The conference sessions then got going as contributor Jon Guy attended a panel session entitled What Next for Insurers, at which Aviva UK and Ireland chief executive Jason Storah called for more industry collaboration.
On the first day of the conference, Biba also launched a premium finance guide to help brokers demonstrate fair value around the product.
