Nottingham law firm Berryman Shacklock is to change to limited liability partnership (LLP) status with effect from 1 April.
Managing partner Andy Matthews said the switch had been made so that the firm could adopt a more corporate status, in line with the structure of its clients' businesses.
“We believe that LLP is the most appropriate structure for a modern professional services firm and is one which will support our growth strategy,” Matthews said.
“For all practical purposes the change to LLP will make very little difference to either our clients or our employees. Clients' legal affairs will continue to be looked after by the same team.
“The main evidence of the change will be that the firm will be known as Berryman Shacklock LLP.”
