Company to supply general insurance prodcuts to members of the HomeLoan partnership network

Berkeley Alexander has been chosen as supplier of general insurance products to members of the HomeLoan Partnership network.

It is the second major deal the general insurance wholesaler has signed in the last fortnight following the decision of Mortgage Brain to enhance its mortgage sourcing system to include integrated links to the Berkeley Alexander (BA) whole of market general insurance portal.

Martin Cave, the managing director of HomeLoan Partnership, said: "With Treating Customers Fairly very much in mind, we decided our members needed a wider choice of competitive GI providers. After an extensive process of reviewing many insurance providers we chose BA as our preferred route for members to place GI business. Berkeley Alexander’s wide range of products offers competitive premiums and excellent policy cover while providing good rates of commission."

Mark Lofhouse, Mortgage Brain’s CEO said it was the opportunity to access Berkeley Alexander’s unique comparative web-based quote facility that swung the deal for them.

It allows members access to a substantial range of insurers and products for the main product lines they sell - home insurance, residential buy to let insurance and MPPI insurance. In addition, members can introduce clients to Berkeley Alexander on a whole range of other GI products, including all forms of commercial insurance.

"That was the clincher. It is important that our members treat customers fairly and that means having a quick and simple facility to search the market for the most suitable products which they can then either recommend or refer to Berkeley Alexander to complete the sale," he said.

Mortgage Brain users who are directly authorised with the FSA will have immediate access to the full range of BA’s product providers for home insurance (buildings and contents), Residential buy To let insurance and mortgage payment protection insurance.
