Benfield has sold its 50% stake in sports marketing consultancy Benfield Sports International (BSI).

The stake was sold to BSI Marketing Ltd, a company established by BSI's management, for an undisclosed sum.

BSI has net assets of £1.6m, said Benfield.

Benfield chief executive Grahame Chilton said: “Benfield has enjoyed much success with BSI over the last seven years. Our decision to sell our holding in BSI is in line with our policy of focusing activities on core reinsurance operations.

“BSI has grown every year since its inception and owns a number of world class properties including the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series and the FIM Speedway World Cup. We wish the team every success for the future, as they embark on the next chapter in their development.”
