The British Damage Management Association (BDMA)has welcomed conservators and restorers of all disciplines to its special interest group conference this year.
Generally conservators and disaster recovery folk come from very different perspectives and approaches. The traditional conservators and restorers have often done years of intense training or apprentices and tend to work from an established workshop in their specialist trade. The disaster recovery field has many roots in the
salvage corps which had been set up by the insurance industry in the 19th Century.
