Barbican hires Aspen underwriter

Barbican Insurance Group has appointed Lucy Town as an underwriter in its non-marine reinsurance department.

Town will be underwriting US casualty reinsurance business and will report to Ondine Bourrut Lacouture, underwriting manager for North American casualty reinsurance.

Town joins Barbican from Aspen Re where she was lead underwriter, and has eight years’ (re)insurance experience writing business for medical malpractice, professional liability and general liability.

Head of non-marine reinsurance Andy Caldwell said: “During her eight-year insurance and reinsurance career, Lucy has achieved significant success, rising quickly through the ranks and amassing considerable experience across a range of territories and lines of business.

“She is a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical skills, and I and the team look forward to working with her in her new role.”
