Product targets low-risk drivers.
AXA has launched a motor product aimed at the low-risk driver market.
AXA Car provides comprehensive and third party fire and theft cover. The insurer said it has a sophisticated rating structure, which allows individual risks to be priced more accurately.
Mike Keating, managing director of personal lines intermediary (PLI) at AXA Insurance, said: “Motor is an important and growing area for us and this product which is specifically targeted to a certain type of driver will help us to become one of the top five providers in the market by 2012.“
The product gives customers their own case handler who will update them on key stages of the claim using SMS text messages. Each customer will have a claims handler based in either the Birmingham or Ipswich offices.
The product is being rolled out to all partners by the end of January and software houses Open GI and Acturis in November. It is currently available through software houses Insurecom, CDL and SSP and partners Kwik Fit Insurance Services and Swinton.
Existing PLI motor products Conwy and Premier 35 will eventually be replaced by AXA Car. But they will still be available for mid-term adjustments, renewals and on some specialist schemes.
