Breakdown recovery firm provides new smartphone app to classic car broker
Roadside recovery firm AXA Assistance has extended its partnership with classic car broker Footman James.
Under the new deal, AXA Assistance will continue to provide roadside recovery and home-start services to Footman James clients into 2016.
In addition, AXA Assistance has developed a dedicated breakdown application for smartphones, which is designed to respond to the needs of Footman James’ classic car and motorcycle insurance customers.
The app allows motorists to access breakdown recovery services. It uses GPRS technology to help locate the stranded motorist’s exact position. The app also provides live traffic updates, maps accident black-spot information and driving advice.
AXA Assistance head of account management Paul Moloney said: “Our commitment to delivering measurable, added-value services to our clients’ customers is an important factor in sustaining this long-term partnership with Footman James. By combining the established recovery service with responsive mobile technology we are working to ensure this valuable service remains relevant and meeting the needs of classic vehicle owners.”
Footman James managing director Andy Fairchild added: “AXA Assistance recognises the importance of responding to the very specific needs of our classic car and motorcycle customers. As partners, they work closely with us to ensure the highest standards are maintained as well as looking at ways to further enhance our offering, such as the dedicated motor breakdown app we have launched.”
