Aviva has unveiled the structure of Aviva Corporate and Speciality Risk (ACSR).
Aviva Corporate and Speciality Risk (ACSR) is headed up by David Hall, who joined ACSR as managing director in March.
A key appointment is John Tiernan, who becomes chief underwriting officer.
Tiernan was previously class underwriter for Mitsui's property book and he will underwrite across all lines at ACSR. Mike Dobson is head of claims and Dipak Warren director of market management.
Hall said: “John’s underwriting credentials, wealth of knowledge, leadership skills and strong reputation in the market are a fantastic addition to Aviva’s corporate and speciality team.”
Tiernan’s team includes Nick Martin as head of engineering and construction and Mark Carver, formerly with Allianz, as head of PI and crime.
Warren's team is internally recruited and comprises Owen Thomas, head of broker management and Ann Kelly, head of property investors.
The ACSR division will look to grow in speciality lines and build on wins in the corporate risk market, such as the signings of Comet and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Hall said: “Our ambition for the business is long-term, profitable growth. We will only attach capital to risk exposure that we really understand. That’s why the team that we’re announcing today is so important – together we have the expertise and capability to grow our business in a controlled, sustainable way. This is a clear signal that we are dedicated to this market, open for business and in it for the long-haul.”
ACSR trades out of five locations: Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and its UK headquarters in London.
