Torus’s finance director Ian Campbell departs
Aviva’s deputy group chief financial officer Tim Harris (above) is set to join Torus as group chief financial officer in May.
Harris will succeed Ian Campbell, former finance director of Aspen Insurance UK, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Zahir Petiwalla, chief finance officer for Torus International and group head of finance, will act as Torus’ interim group chief finance officer, reporting into group chief executive, Clive Tobin.
Harris, who has more than 20 years’ experience in financial and capital management, will also be appointed to the group’s holdings board and will become a member of Torus’ executive committee, reporting to Tobin.
In addition to the finance function, Harris, who will be based in London, will assume direct supervision of Torus’ operations team headed by Michael Kim.
Currently holding the role of deputy group chief financial officer and chief capital officer of Aviva, Harris is responsible for leading the group capital team with specific responsibility for managing capital across Aviva, including treasury, asset and liability management, reinsurance and Solvency II.
He previously served as chief financial officer at Aviva Europe and chief accounting officer at Aviva.
Prior to joining Aviva, Harris was a partner in the global capital markets practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Tobin said: “Tim is a key appointment for Torus. His deep experience across finance, treasury and capital markets will become increasingly important in the next phase of our strategic development. I also look forward to him joining our leadership team and playing an integral part in shaping Torus’ future.
On Campbell, he said: “Ian was one of the very early executive appointments to be made at Torus and I would like to thank him for his contribution in the development of the company and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
