Former Bupa fraud boss hired in new role
Aviva has appointed Anne Green as head of fraud for underwriting, pricing and product.
Green’s role has been newly created by Aviva in an attempt to tackle insurance fraud.
She has experience in developing and embedding fraud strategies at financial services companies, including BUPA, RBS, Experian and HSBC.
Aviva UKGI chief underwriting officer, Axel Schmidt (pictured above), said: “We have created this new role within underwriting, pricing and product, bringing together one team to place stronger emphasis on increasing our commitment to front end fraud detection.
“Reducing the risk of deliberate non-disclosure or misrepresentation of material facts at the earliest opportunity means we can ensure that premiums adequately reflect the risk, manage our risk exposure and protect the interests of our honest customers.
“Under Anne’s leadership, her team will work closely with Aviva’s claims fraud team, creating a holistic approach across claims and underwriting, which will help us leverage our expertise and learnings to ensure effective and consistent fraud reduction across the business.”
He added: “Her wealth of technical expertise in this specialist role will be instrumental in helping us tackle the issue of fraud and I am delighted to welcome her to Aviva.”
