Appointment of Andrew Moneta completes executive team
Aviva has appointed Andrea Moneta as chief executive for Aviva Europe.
Moneta will be a member of Aviva's group executive committee, and will report directly to group chief executive Andrew Moss. Moneta is currently managing director of Dubai Financial Group and will join the company on 1 July.
Moneta has extensive experience in the European financial services arena. Before joining Dubai Financial Group, he spent seven years at UniCredit, and served as head of strategic planning at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt.
Moss commented: "Andrea has an enviable understanding of the European financial services market. He has an excellent track record of developing and running successful businesses across Continental and Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. At UniCredit he played a leading role in the company's international expansion, making it a leading force in European banking.
"Andrea's appointment completes the formation of my new executive team and he will play a key part in delivering our ‘One Aviva, twice the value' vision, taking our European business to the next stage of its growth and development. His understanding of the value of strong insurance and banking partnerships from a partner's perspective will be invaluable in the further development of our already strong bancassurance capability."
