Aspen Insurance has appointed Ed Beckwith as head of its UK professional indemnity unit.
On joining Aspen in December, Beckwith will be based in London and report to co-chief executives Rupert Villers and John Cavoores.
Beckwith joins Aspen from Allied World Assurance, where he was senior vice-president, professional lines and a senior member of Allied World Europe management.
Before joining Allied World he was part of Syndicate 702’s professional and financial risks team and concentrated on crime and professional indemnity for all lines.
"We have been seeking to build out our professional indemnity capability selectively and Ed is an excellent addition to our team," Cavoores said in a statement. "I am looking forward to working with Ed as we develop our Insurance franchise at Aspen.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
