Telegraph examines rising arson problem in the UK

AXA has said arson biggest cause of fires in Britain with more than 3,500 each week, including 20 schools, 260 homes and 360 businesses, and costs £2.2bn a year, the Telegraph reports.

In a wide-ranging article on arson, including some time spent with the fire service and arson investigators, the Telegraph reports that AXA also said arsons carried out against businesses soared by 23%.

On the shifts the Telegraph reporter spent with investigators from New Cross fire station, London, over two days and nights, half of all the fires turn out to be arson.
