Underwriting agency poaches two from NIG
Arista has made three new appointments to its North West regional office in Manchester.
Pauline Spencer has been appointed as senior fleet underwriter responsible for underwriting all classes of commercial motor business. Peter Howard and Martin Hyde join as senior underwriters, dealing with the development and underwriting of all other commercial lines business.
The office opened in January, under the supervision of Paul Dooley.
Prior to joining Arista, Spencer was technical team leader with NIG and has also been a head office motor controller with Independent Insurance. Howard was senior underwriter with NIG, while Hyde was previously a senior development underwriter for Chubb.
Commenting on the appointments, Arista’s CEO Charles Earle said: "We have experienced tremendous growth in our southern operations over the past 12 months and are now aiming to replicate this for our northern based brokers. Paul has already started to generate significant relationships with brokers and with the arrival of Pauline, Peter and Martin he is now in a great position to achieve our ambitious targets for the region."
Dooley added: "My main priority on joining Arista was to recruit the best team I could to ensure that brokers in the north could be certain of the same level of service that we provide from our southern operations. Pauline, Peter and Martin have in excess of 50 years’ experience between them. Add to this our unique on and offline proposition designed to reduce unnecessary frictional costs and our brokers can be confident that they will have the expertise, systems and service they need to make a real difference to them and their clients."
