Argenta hires former Lancashire marine head

Argenta Syndicate Management has appointed Vincent Leonardi as marine underwriter at its Syndicate 2121.

Reporting to Argenta’s active underwriter Ian Maguire, Leonardi will take up his new role on 22 October 2012. 

Leonardi joins Argenta after six years at Lancashire Insurance where he was head of marine and aviation. Prior to Lancashire, he held a number of senior positions at Markel International, which he joined when Markel acquired Octavian Syndicate Management in 1999. At Markel, he wrote marine hull, marine war, yacht and aviation war business.

Maguire said: “Vincent has an excellent track record at well-respected institutions in the Lloyd’s and London markets. His wide-ranging marine expertise and his market relationships will be a valuable addition to our underwriting team. He will play a key role in Argenta’s underwriting operations and our ambitious plans for Syndicate 2121.”
