AM Best has assigned a Syndicate rating of A (excellent) to Lloyd's Syndicate 2001, managed by Amlin Underwriting. It said the outlook was stable.
The rating reflected the Syndicate's excellent profile and prospective financial performance, said AM Best. This was in addition to the financial strength of the Lloyd's market as a whole, currently rated A- (excellent), which underpins the security of all Lloyd's syndicates.
A partially offsetting factor was the syndicate's reliance on retrocession cover, said the ratings agency.
Amlin chief executive Charles Philipps said: "We are delighted with this A rating which reinforces our strong credentials from a client perspective, and backs up progress made in recent years in all key areas of our business."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
