AMII seeks discussion panel to focus on transparency of claims information
The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) is to approach UK private medical insurers and Biba to form a discussion panel to focus on the issue of transparency of claims information in private medical insurance.
AMII believes the panel should have an independent chairperson. AMII would represent specialist healthcare intermediaries and IFAs and Biba would represent the wider sector of general insurance brokers on the panel.
Mike Izzard, AMII’s chairman said, “This is a very important industry topic and the only way to improve the flow of information is for all the relevant parties to get together, including the underwriting community. We are proposing all these parties sit round the same table and explore viable and practical solutions. I sincerely hope that the industry responds positively.”
AMII will be making its approaches over the next four weeks.
