ALARM - The National Forum for Risk Management in the Public Sector - has announced plans to present awards for achievements in risk management at its June conference.

The awards - now in their 9th year - recognise the work of risk managers and the benefits they bring to their organisations.

The award categories cover a range of areas within risk management, including:

  • Human Resources
  • Other Risk Management Initiative
  • Partnership Working Initiative
  • Getting Risk Management on the Corporate Agenda
  • Risk Manager of the Year

ALARM said its judges are looking for innovative approaches to risk management.

ALARM chief executive Sheila Boyce said: "The awards scheme gives people the chance to demonstrate to others what they have been doing in the field of Risk Management and to promote good practise in the public sector community.

"Entries can come from across the public sector and normally include a diverse range of initiatives.

"Entering couldn't be simpler - we just want to know what you did, why you carried out your scheme and the tangible benefits it has delivered to your organisation.

"Your idea may not seem extraordinary, but it is often the simple ideas that have the biggest impact. Send us your entry - you have got to be in it to win it!"
