Main will look after RIAS, Castle Cover and Kwik-Fit brands
Ageas retail has hired Bert Main as its new director of commercial, to replace some of the responsibilities covered by the former group commercial director Brendan Devine, who left the business in April 2013.
In his new role Main will work closely with Ageas’s pricing teams to create business development strategies and identify new product opportunities for the RIAS, Castle Cover and Kwik Fit brands.
Main joins Ageas from Catalyst Consulting Solutions where he was a director and oversaw pricing and development.
As part of the Ageas retail executive team he will also be part of the governance team to make sure the business operates according to regulatory requirements.
Following Devine’s exit in 2013 his other responsibility for Ageas’s affinities and partnerships business was taken over by Ant Middle in January 2014.
Commenting on his new appointment Main said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape an ambitious business that will continue to be a significant player in the intermediary market. I’m looking forward to getting started and making a contribution at an exciting time in Ageas retail and distribution’s development.”
Greg Ball and James Furse have also recently joined the board as non-executive directors – with Furse to be appointed chairman of the board of Ageas retail in January 2015. He will replace Peter Friend.
Cliff said: “I’m delighted with these appointments which will help us enormously as we deliver our growth and simplification strategy. Bert is well respected in the market and the knowledge he has across the retail supply chain will be invaluable, bringing an additional dimension to the business.”
“Greg and James both bring a tremendous amount of experience to help Ageas Retail in our development over the coming years. Both have had highly successful careers and will enhance our board greatly,” Cliff added.
