Insurer preparing to change systems and processes
Insurer Ageas said it is "disappointed" by the European Court of Justice ruling to ban gender discrimination for insurance pricing.
The company said: "We are disappointed that the European Court has ruled that differential insurance pricing based on statistical gender differences will no longer be permitted from December 2012.
"Taking gender into account where relevant can help men and women get the best deal from insurance.
"We will now use the interim period until December 2012 to make the necessary changes to systems and processes and work closely with our brokers, partners and suppliers to ensure a smooth transition for customers."
