Northern Ireland hit by flooding.
Flooding has caused chaos across Northern Ireland after 12 hours of heavy rainfall on Saturday 16 August led to road closures and people being evacuated from their homes.
Northern Ireland Water, the Roads Service and Rivers Agency have responded to thousands of calls. The ABI said it was too early to say how much the flooding could cost, but loss adjusters had begun to assess the damage.
Graeme Fitzpatrick, head of general insurance at Crawford & Company, said: “With nearly a month’s rain falling in just a few hours, rivers burst their banks in counties Antrim, Down and Londonderry, leading to flooding across Northern Ireland.”
