Insurer to become sole underwriter for personal lines motor for civil service employees
Zurich has won a contract with the Civil Service Insurance Society (CSIS) to be the sole underwriter for its core personal lines motor insurance product.
The CSIS is a not-for-profit organisation providing personal lines insurance products to about 30,000 serving and former civil servants and public service employees and their partners in the UK.
Zurich head of personal lines Ian McManus said: “I’m delighted that the CSIS has chosen Zurich as its sole provider of personal motor insurance. This new partnership is a reflection of the important changes we have made to our personal lines broker business, which are helping to ensure delivery of a competitive motor proposition.
“Our businesses also share a number of common aspirations in terms our commitment to fighting insurance fraud, both at quote and claims stage and our investment in charitable causes.”
CSIS chief executive Kevin Holliday said: “We feel that Zurich has the capability to deliver on product, price and customer service as well as sharing a mutual appreciation of the public sector and the importance of corporate social responsibility.”
CSIS was founded in 1890 and donates all its profits to a number of public sector charities with its biggest beneficiary last year, the Charity for Civil Servants. There are about 440,000 civil servants currently working in the UK with about 500,000 retirees.
