Zurich revamps its Scotland insurance team

Zurich has announced six new appointments to its broker-facing team in Scotland, three of which are new hires.

David Brown has joined Zurich from NFU Mutual where he ran the Scottish business, and Pauline White has left Aviva to become retail estate insurance managing underwriter after 20 years of retail estate insurance experience.

Michael Hynes has left Chubb to become Zurich’s SME senior development underwriter in the region.

The three internal appointments are corporate managing underwriter David Scott, who held the role on an interim basis,construction managing underwriter Davie Virdi and Lindsey Yule has taken up the newly created role of cross-segment managing underwriter.

The new appointments have joined five existing members of the senior team who have kept their previous roles.

Zurich’s head of broker market for Scotland Chris Sime has reshaped the team after his appointment in August 2013. He said: “Our new approach to Scotland will really help build on our position as a key insurance partner for broker north of the border.”

He added: “We truly have a team to be reckoned with in Scotland. I want brokers to know we’re geared up to support them and our customers better than ever before, and are here to respond positively to market opportunities across the country.”
