Network says no plans as yet for replacement
Broker Network senior director Mark Wood has announced his decision to quit the company.
Wood, who was the network’s managing director until January when a board restructuring moved him to group insurer director for Towergate’s network division, will step down at the end of the month.
In a message to the network’s 218 members, Wood said that he planned to take up a new challenge in the broker market.
“It is with a degree of regret that, after five hugely enjoyable and successful years at Broker Network, I have decided to leave the company to explore pastures new.
“I am currently reviewing a number of options … but intend to continue my career in the insurance intermediary sector. For some odd reason I seem to like the sector and that’s down to you.”
Wood joined Broker Network in 2004 as director of insurer relations before his promotion to managing director the following year.
He was previously finance director of the general insurance division at Abbey National.
Broker Network said that no decision had been made on whether Wood would be replaced.
Towergate's network division board mixes members from Broker Network and the Countrywide Network, part of Open GI.
Meanwhile, seven associate members – new members who become part of the network but without the full benefits – have joined Broker Network.
It follows the confirmation of a new three-year deal with Aviva. The company also has made a number of senior appointments in its sales team.
