Insurers braced themselves for a further bout of storm and flood damage claims in the UK after mini-twisters hit the south coast and rain affected many areas on Sunday.
The Met Office had several severe weather warnings in place for today (Monday 10 November) and the Environment Agency issued 31 Flood warnings and had more than 150 areas on flood watch.
Strong winds battered heavy rain across southwest England, Wales and as far north as Lincolnshire on Sunday, with winds gusting at 50mph. The Welsh town of Sunnybridge, near Brecon, Powys, had almost 4cm of rain.
The UK has as many as 40 mini-tornados a year.
